RTD to offer bus services to Boulder County ski resort
DENVER ( KDVR ) — The Regional Transportation District will now offer seasonal service to a Colorado mountain for the ski and snowboard season.
Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 7, RTD's Bus Route NB will provide service to Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland. The resort expects to open on Thursday for the 2024-25 ski season.
"Skiers, snowboarders and Eldora visitors alike can board westbound buses at RTD's Downtown Boulder Station. Customers can board and offload at the bus stop located at the base of the resort, steps away from the Alpenglow lift," said RTD in a press release.

Before jumping on the bus, RTD asks riders to check the Route NB schedule ahead of time as not all trips will arrive at the resort. Some trips from Route NB end at Nederland High School.
Riders 19 years old and younger can ride the bus for free as part of the Zero Fare for Youth program. Those older than 19 years old can buy a three-hour pass, an all-day pass or a monthly RTD pass.
Eldora Mountain Resort is 21 miles away from Boulder and 46 miles from Denver and has 680 acres of skiable terrain.
Eldora Mountain isn't the only resort that can be reached by public transportation. On Monday, the Winter Park Express , which connects Denver's Union Station to the Winter Park Resort, will return for the 2025 winter season.
The service will begin five days a week on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. Special expanded holiday service will run from Dec. 20 to Dec. 22, and on Dec. 27 through Dec. 29.
One-way tickets for the train range from $19 to $39, and children aged 2 to 12 are eligible for 50% off base fares. Skis and snowboards can be carried on without any additional charge.
