Run Vehicle in Long Beach Identified
A 62-year-old man, believed to have been walking outside a marked crosswalk in Long Beach when he was struck and killed by a pickup truck whose driver fled, was identified Monday.
Officers dispatched to the scene in the area of Anaheim Street and Orange Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday located the pedestrian in the roadway, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Arriving paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as German Aragon Enriquez.
Police said a newer model Chevrolet Silverado was going westbound on Anaheim Street, when it allegedly struck Enriquez in the roadway, east of Orange Avenue.
Police believe he was walking outside a marked crosswalk and the driver fled.
