Running unopposed, Duffie Stone reelected for 5th full term as 14th Circuit Solicitor

Duffie Stone will serve his fifth full term as 14th Circuit Solicitor after another victory in his second straight unopposed election. The longtime prosecutor earned 100,282 votes or 98.8% of his electorate in the Lowcountry, according to unofficial tallies from scvotes.org .

Stone was appointed to the position in 2006 and successfully ran for two additional terms in 2008 and 2012. In 2016, he won with nearly 70% of the vote after one of his former deputy solicitors became his first challenger . He ran unopposed for a third time in the 2020 general election.

As the chief prosecuting attorney of South Carolina's 14th judicial circuit, Stone oversees general sessions court cases in Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties.
