Rutland considers changing routes for ‘The Bus’

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - A heads-up for travelers in Rutland- bus routes may change in the coming weeks.

The Marble Valley Regional Transit District which the runs " The Bus ," could cut stops from some of its main routes.

Both the South and South Extension routes may be consolidated, and the Hospital Route could be modified.

But the transit service says many riders won't feel the impact as they look to free up resources for their busiest season.

"Part of that route analysis work we did that was pretty much the biggest recommendation was free up resources by sort of combining two routes that have a lot of overlap," said Ethan Peppin, the transportation director for the Rutland Regional Planning Commission.
