Salem High School girls’ basketball preview
SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – Last year, Salem finished with 8 losses in games decided by 10-points or less. However, the Quakers won a pair of playoff games before falling to Canfield in the district semifinal round.
First-year head coach; longtime boys assistant Matt Mowery says, "We're going to be athletic and defensive minded. We're looking to compete in each game and get better as the season progresses."
The Quakers must replace the contributions of Rylee Hutton and Lauryn Barton – who have since graduated – from last year's team.
Salem will welcome back a pair of seniors Reese Davidson-Chuck (8 ppg, 8 rpg) and Muirin Lesko along with juniors Maddy Andres and Karlie Sampson. Expected to contribute this season will be Rylee Davidson-Chuck, Garyn Rohm, Emilee Lewis, Abby Knickerbocker, Peyton Colbert and Ryann Vross.
Salem is set to open the season on November 22 versus United.
