JOPLIN, Mo. — Sam's Club in Joplin is supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals with a significant donation to our local representative hospital.

Store Manager Rob Thomas and some of his employees presented Freeman Health System with a check for nearly seventy-one thousand dollars. Freeman is the local CMN representative hospital and proudly accepted the donation.

The partnership between the two entities dates back to 1987, which has raised more than $4.3 million for the hospital. This money is raised over the course of just one month each year through Sam's Club customers and other events.

"The majority of our money comes from members' donations at registers. We do events, we did a cookout at the hospital, we sell business banners to our business members, and everyone just gives as they go out," said Thomas.

"And this team is just so amazing here at Sam's Club, they're number one in the nation in terms of Sam's Club givers, they're obviously number one in our community for Children's Miracle Network and we're so proud to have them," said Steve Sanderson, Chief Development Officer, Freeman Health System.

As Thomas explained, these are several of the local businesses that also chip in to help support CMN.
