Sandra S. Kunigel, 75, of Donnelly Street in Duryea, died Monday at her
home. Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and
Stacia Soholek.

She was educated in area schools. Before her retirement, she was employed
in the area garment industry. She resided in Duryea for the last 53 years. She
was a member of St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Duryea.
She was a member of the Ladies ANS Society, Chapter #3, Order of the
Eastern Star, Scranton; The Frederick Chopin Choir; The Plectrum Orchestra;
and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for Troop 892 for many years. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kunigel; and a brother, Alex Soholek.
Surviving are a son, Arthur Kunigel, Hood River, Ore.; daughters, Mrs. Frank
(Evelyn) Zarychta, Allentown; Arlene Kunigel, Forty Fort; five grandchildren;
a brother, Martin Soholek, McMinnville, Tenn.; sisters, Mrs. Dolores Lak,
Springfield, Mass.; Mrs. Elizabeth Socha, Springfield, Mass.; Mrs. Lucille
Gibbons, McMinnville, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Bernard J. Piontek
Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in
St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Duryea, with the Rev. Thadusz
Kluzek, officiating.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Duryea.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the Overbrook School for the Blind,
Philadelphia.
