Sayville Fundraisers Grow As Community Recovers From Raging Fire "Let's show our Sayville strength. Let's show our pride for our beloved Main St. We need to start rebuilding right away."-Sayville Chamber.

SAYVILLE, NY — On the evening of Oct. 25 Sayville changed forever after a brutal blaze ripped through Main Street and ravaged numerous beloved local businesses.

Flames that broke out in the old Cafe Joelle quickly spread to surrounding businesses including Paper Doll Vintage, Boris Barber Shop, Sayville Running Company, Hammer & Stain, and the Counseling Offices of Adrian Fields & Associates, according to the Sayville Chamber of Commerce.

Multiple fire departments assisted with extinguishing the blaze, including Sayville, West Sayville,East Islip, Islip Terrace, Bohemia, Bayport, Holbrook, Blue Point, North Patchogue, and Patchogue fire departments.

According to officials, it took firefighters around two hours to put the flames to rest and no injuries were reported.

Now, with some establishments damaged and others destroyed, the community is quickly finding the strength to begin rebuilding efforts, including an online fundraiser organized by the Sayville Chamber of Commerce and an upcoming event at The Wayward, the chamber announced Wednesday.

In a social media post, the chamber said the online fundraiser was "almost" up to $73,000.

The post also said the chamber's first in-person fundraiser will be an evening out at The Wayward Kitchen & Cocktails in Sayville on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. A "suggested" donation of $40 will get guests a night of raffles, food, music, and drinks.

According to the organization, seven businesses were affected by the fire and they "want to give a good amount to each to get started again."

The post concluded:

"Please consider donating to help all the small business owners that have been affected by this devastating fire. They will need our help in getting back on their feet.

"Let's show our Sayville strength! Let's show our pride for our beloved Main Street. We need to start rebuilding right away.

"Thank you in advance. There is no donation that is too small! 100% of the proceeds in a special account will go directly to all the business owners affected by this tragic event."
