SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Yesterday's cold front has stalled east of the ArkLaTex keeping a slight chance of rain in the forecast for our Louisiana parishes today. We'll have comfortable temperatures through the weekend, but the front will work its way back into the region bringing scattered showers and storms in the upcoming days.

Cloud cover is holding our temperatures in the 60s in Louisiana, but clearing skies in east Texas and Arkansas have us in the 40s and 50s with areas of patchy fog this morning. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine today with high temperatures comfortably in the 70s. Wind will be light and out of the northeast.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain today, and that will be confined to areas southeast of Shreveport like Natchitoches, Sabine, Red River, and Bienville parishes. The remainder of us will have partly to mostly cloudy skies and dry weather.

The stalled front will lift north and return to the ArkLaTex tonight and tomorrow bringing a chance of light rain showers overnight and into the day Thursday.

Our 2nd cold front of the week will likely swing through the region Friday night into Saturday. This front will steer Hurricane Rafael away from the ArkLaTex, as Rafael is likely to approach the coast this weekend but get caught in the front and sent northeast as a weaker tropical storm or tropical depression.
