B.James51 min ago

The school division's first food show will be held Friday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Independence High School, 23115 Learning Circle, Ashburn, VA. More than 30 LCPS chefs and food service vendors will offer samples of food and share recipes. Over a dozen community partners will also be on site to share information about health, from hunger relief to exercise.

According to LCPS, the event is intended to get student feedback on "comfort foods, culturally inclusive recipes, and delicious snacks" to ensure healthy school menus align with students' desires.

"Food has the amazing ability to bring people together, so this event is especially important to School Nutrition Services in sharing our initiatives and showing how we are changing the future in school nutrition," said Brittany Palaschak, the LCPS nutrition and procurement coordinator who co-organized the food show.

Feedback will be collected through a survey.
