ScoopDuck Roundtable: Score Predictions vs Oregon State

O.Anderson3 months ago

The Civil War is just a couple days out and Duck fans are more than a little excited. As we all know this is the last ‘guaranteed’ Civil War game in the foreseeable future. With massive implications on the line.

Amid the rumors of Jonathan Smith being the leading candidate for the Michigan State job, it will be interesting to see how the Beavs respond. Here are our predictions below on the game and score in this Civil War finale.

Jarrid Denney: Oregon 38, Oregon State 21

Oregon State will give Oregon its toughest test of the season, aside from Washington. The Beavers have an outstanding offensive line and are going to lean on their rushing attack to try and control the game. But I can’t see Oregon slipping up at this point. The Ducks will cover the -13.5 spread and secure their trip to the Pac-12 title game.

Joel Gunderson: Oregon 34, OSU 21

Well, we’ve arrived. For the Ducks, it all comes down to this: win, and you’re in the P12 Championship Game. The resolve from this team post-Washington is remarkable and is the opposite of previous teams. There’s a focus and purpose we haven’t seen in a long time, as evidenced by Bo Nix’s remarks in this week’s Cinema Recap.

They know they’re on the doorstep of something special, and I don’t see how Oregon State can hang for four quarters with this team.

The final score won’t blow the hair back, but it will do this trick; Oregon controls from the jump and pays the Beavers back for last year’s unfathomable collapse.

Doug Scott: Oregon 42, OSU 27

The first half will be hard fought, and end in a 21-13 Score in favor of Oregon, but the Ducks will pull away in the 3rd quarter and cruise to a comfortable victory.

Corpatty: Oregon 38, OSU 20

Entering this game Oregon St. has three losses by a combined total of just 8 points. So no one has blown the Beavers out. While I don’t have this one as a total blowout, I think Oregon controls the game and wins comfortably. Only DJ U and his running ability keeps this game close and lets the Beavers churn the clock and shorten the game.

Jhop: Oregon 45, OSU 24

The Ducks come out with rockets up their butts on Friday and never stop. At home, Spencer Webb tribute, the final ‘guaranteed’ Civil War game, a playoff at stake. The Ducks come out firing and never quit. Meanwhile there is more than smoke, the town hall is on fire in Corvallis with the conference uncertainty and now Jonathan Smith a wide-spread leading candidate for the Michigan State job. A perfect storm if you will for the Ducks needing a win.
