Scream into October: Hitchcocktober and Horrorfest!

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Are you ready for the upcoming Halloween season? Well, Consolidated Theatres has a great schedule of Halloween frights ready for you!

This October, Consolidated Theatres is inviting Honolulu audiences to experience a chilling cinematic journey featuring iconic films by the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, alongside horror classics.

The beloved "Hitchcocktober" returns to Consolidated Theatres at Kahala Mall, while "Horrorfest" promises spine-tingling fun at Consolidated Ward with TITAN LUXE, Mililani with TITAN LUXE, and Pearlridge.

Both events will culminate in special screenings of Hitchcock's legendary film, Psycho, just in time for Halloween.

"Hitchcocktober" screenings at Kahala will take place at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., while "Horrorfest" will show at 7 p.m. at Ward, Mililani and Pearlridge.

"Hitchcockober" 2024

NORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959)– Wednesday, Oct. 2

Ad executive Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant) is pursued by ruthless spy Phillip Vandamm (James Mason) after Thornhill is mistaken for a government agent. Hunted relentlessly by Vandamm's associates, Thornhill soon ends up on a cross-country journey with the mysterious Eve Kendall (Eva Marie Saint).

(1955) – Wednesday, Oct. 16

When a local man is murdered, many of the town's residents secretly wonder if they are responsible, including the man's ex-wife (Shirley MacLaine), and a retired seaman (Edmund Gwenn) who found the body. As the no-nonsense sheriff (Royal Dano) gets involved and local artist Sam Marlowe (John Forsythe) offers his help, the community tries to unravel the mystery in this classic comedic thriller.

(1951)– Wednesday, Oct. 23

Tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger) is enraged by his cheating wife's refusal to finalize their divorce so he can wed senator's daughter Anne (Ruth Roman). He strikes up a conversation with a stranger, Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker), and unwittingly sets in motion a deadly chain of events. Psychopathic Bruno kills Guy's wife, then urges Guy to reciprocate by killing Bruno's father. Meanwhile, Guy is murder suspect number one.

PSYCHO (1960)– Wednesday, Oct. 30 & Thursday, Oct. 31

Hitchcock's masterpiece of the macabre stars Anthony Perkins as the troubled Norman Bates, whose old dark house and adjoining motel are not the place to spend a quiet evening. Showers take on a whole new feeling for film fans when Marion Crane, spectacularly played by Janet Leigh, ends up at the Bates Motel.

"Horrorfest" 2024

(1974) – Wednesday, Oct. 2

Five youths on a weekend getaway fall prey to a family of cannibals. Tobe Hooper's masterpiece of subversive horror defined the genre through a chilling depiction of depravity.

THE RING (2002)– Wednesday, Oct. 9

A videotape filled with nightmarish images leads to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days—newspaper reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) is skeptical of the story until four teenagers all die mysteriously exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery in this chiller from director Gore Verbinski.

WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE (1994)– Wednesday, Oct. 16

A standalone film and the seventh installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE takes a dark twist—instead portraying Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) as a fictional movie villain who invades the real world, terrorizing those involved in making films about him.

HALLOWEEN (1978)– Wednesday, Oct. 23

On a cold Halloween, six-year-old Michael Myers murdered his 17-year-old sister. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, 21-year-old Michael Myers escapes. He returns to his quiet hometown where he looks for his next victims.
