Lake Corpus Christi State Park is a 356-acre park located roughly 40 miles northwest of the coastal city of Corpus Christi. According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's website, there is plenty to do at the park like swimming, fishing, boating, birdwatching and camping.

Of note is the fact that alligators live in the park. Because gators tend to be more active at dusk and dawn, per TPWD's website, swimming is only allowed in designated areas and swimming areas close at sunset.

It is currently unclear what time of day the missing adult and minor were swimming. LoneStarLive.com has contacted the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department about the search for the two missing people and will update this story if we get more information.
