Search continues for missing Yolo County man, deputies block off Woodland area

(FOX40.COM) — The Yolo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man reported missing on Friday afternoon and asking residents to avoid certain areas.

Santos Mendoza, 47, is described as a Hispanic man with dark hair, and blind in one eye. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. On Saturday, YCSO said it was investigating all leads and asked that people stay out of the area of CR 102 and CR 26A in Woodland.

It is unclear why authorities blocked off the area but they said they are "fully committed to finding Mendoza and are utilizing all available resources to ensure a thorough investigation."

YCSO added, "we understand the concern this situation has caused in the community and appreciate the support we have received. As the investigation continues, we encourage anyone with information related to Mendoza's case to reach out to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office at 530-666-8282."
