GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The sun was shining on Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink in downtown Grand Rapids on Thursday as people skated as Christmas music played.

After about a week long delay due to warmer weather, the ice rink opened at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30.

The rink will take both walk-up skaters and online reservations. Reservations for the first two weeks of the season can be made here .

Tickets are $2 for those age 17 and younger and $4 for adults. Rented skates are included in that price. Skating times vary depending on the day.

Weather permitting, the ice rink will remain open through Feb. 25. The rink will host events throughout the winter season, including the annual Christmas tree lighting celebration taking place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1.
