CLEVELAND, Ohio - While Donald Trump easily carried Ohio for the third straight election, Cuyahoga County once again went Democrat - this time with 41 of the 59 cities, villages and townships voting in favor of Kamala Harris.

Countywide, Harris carried the election in the county with 65.3% of the vote, yet Trump ran strong across the southern part of the county, unofficial election results released Wednesday by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections showed.

Cuyahoga County once again was the biggest Democratic stronghold in Ohio in a night otherwise dominated by the Republicans. Close behind was Franklin County (Columbus) with 63.7% voting for Harris and then Hamilton (Cincinnati) at 56.8%.

Four years ago, Democrat Joe Biden did a little better in each of the big counties, with 66.5% in Cuyahoga, 64.9% in Franklin and 57.1% in Hamilton

Trump received the most support in Valley View, with 65.4% of the vote. Cuyahoga Heights and Independence also voted for Trump by at least 60% of cast ballots.

Harris received the most support from Warrensville Heights, claiming 94.8% of the votes. East Cleveland and Highland Hills also voted for Harris by at least 90% of ballots cast.

The city of Cleveland voted for Harris at a rate of 77.8%.

Third-party candidates did not receive a substantial share of any area's votes, with the highest combined percentage going to the small village of Linndale, where 5.4% of voters chose a third-party candidate. More than 1% of voters in Highland Hills, North Randall, Glenwillow and Bentleyville also chose a third-party candidate. Jill Stein is not counted in third-party calculations due to an illegitimate candidacy.

These totals are based on unofficial election results. The final tally must be done by Nov. 20, adding in provisional votes and late-arriving absentee ballots mailed in time.
