WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — Over 400 residents gathered today for a rally featuring U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, who discussed his top priorities as he campaigns for re-election against Democratic challenger Congressman Colin Allred.

Cruz, who has focused on jobs, freedom, and security during his 12 years in the Senate, highlighted key issues that resonate with voters, including immigration and inflation.

Reflecting on his recent debate with Allred, Cruz stated, "My whole objective in the debate was to lay out my record and call it all rhetoric because I think campaigns should be a battle between the records of both candidates and the vision of both candidates."

As the rally concluded, Cruz invited attendees outside to sign his tour bus, an initiative he called "Ride Along," encouraging supporters to leave their mark as he travels through Texas.

Cruz reminded attendees that early voting in Texas begins on Monday, October 21, and runs through November 1, urging everyone to participate ahead of the general election on November 5.

Both Cruz and Allred have been actively campaigning to earn the support of Texans, emphasizing their positions on critical political issues. Allred recently criticized Cruz's record, stating,

"I think that Senator Cruz has had plenty of opportunities to address IVF. And this is just, I think, kind of an effort to cover up his record of putting this at risk in the first place."

With the stakes higher than ever, both candidates are ramping up their efforts to secure votes in this pivotal election.
