Kayla Lee Kauffman, 37, of Lebanon, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and summary violation of light regulations after police spotted a cyclist on the Harrisburg Pike on Nov. 1 without rear reflectors. Police said Kauffman looked too big for the bike and used a phone flashlight to guide the way. Police stopped Kauffman and found her to be in possession of a "considerable amount" of methamphetamine. She was also wanted for simple assault. Magisterial District Judge Michael Sanderson set bail at $500 cash, which she was unable to post.Kendra Leigh Ocker, 22, of Shippensburg, was charged with misdemeanor obstructing law enforcement administration and defiant trespass after an incident at a convenience store on the Harrisburg Pike on Oct. 30. Police said they were dispatched for a report of a woman who refused to leave, and when police arrived, Ocker refused to identify herself and leave the property. Ramon A. Leonard, 38, of Upper Allen Township, was charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of children after police were called to his home on Oct. 31 after a child was found unsupervised. Police said Leonard left the child alone without any care or supervision for an extended period of time. Police did not say how long the child was alone or how old the child was. Sanderson set bail at $2,500 unsecured, and he was released.Lower Allen Township Police (717-975-7575)
More than 12 people had their vehicles entered, with property stolen overnight between Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 in the Beacon Hill development. Police said two people stole more than $1,700 worth of property from unlocked vehicles in the development. The two were spotted on surveillance cameras in the area of Capital View Drive at 9:52 p.m. Oct. 28 and were seen fleeing from Sugar Maple Court at 11:18 p.m. Jodiah Jenifer Moore, 36, of Harrisburg, was arraigned Nov. 3 on charges of felony forgery and misdemeanor bad checks and theft by deception after an investigation that started on Dec. 15, 2023. A caretaker for a resident at Bethany Towers reported that the resident's checkbook had been stolen and she was notified that there was a $4,300 withdrawal from the account two days prior. Police learned the check was deposited into Moore's account, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Sanderson set bail at $500 cash, which she was unable to post.
