Sept. 28 program to honor Columbus area individuals for their military, community service
The David City Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting a program honoring individuals in and from the Columbus area for their military and community service. The program will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Columbus VFW Hall.
Honorees include: artist, author and veteran Dillon Krueger; veteran, former teacher and Higgins Memorial project leader Jerry Meyer; longtime community and veteran services volunteer Mary Meyer; veteran, former teacher and Freedom Wall project conceptualist Chris Dixon; and Central Community College psychology instructor and Out of the Darkness volunteer Emily Mach.
Ten local veterans also will be receiving Quilts of Valor. After the program, there will be a brief reception.
