Settlement reached in Jayland Walker death
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — The family of Jayland Walker has reached a settlement with the city of Akron in a federal lawsuit stemming from Walker's fatal shooting by police in June 2022.
A court document filed Tuesday says the family and the city have agreed to a settlement but does not reveal the terms.

Walker was shot multiple times by Akron police officers following a vehicle pursuit.
The City of Akron had no comment on the settlement filing Wednesday morning.
The eight officers involved in the shooting returned to active duty in October 2023.

A Summit County grand jury declined to indict the eight officers, who fired a total of 94 shots in just under seven seconds, hitting Walker 46 times.
