Several Phoenix-area freeways to have partial closures this weekend

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Drivers beware. Portions of some Valley freeways will be closed for construction this weekend.

The following freeways are impacted:

Interstate 10
  • I-10 eastbound will close between the SR 51 Mini-Stack interchange and US 60 (Superstition Freeway) from 10 p.m. on Friday until 4 a.m. on Monday for work on the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
  • All Eastbound I-10 on-ramps between 3rd Street and US 60 will be closed as well as southbound I-17 on-ramps at 7th Avenue and 7th Street.
  • Downtown Phoenix area: Take eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and westbound US 60
  • Chandler area: Take westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to reach I-10
  • West Valley: Take southbound/eastbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) to reach I-10 near Chandler Blvd.
  • Interstate 17
  • I-17 northbound will be closed from Dunlap Avenue to Peoria Avenue from 10 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Monday for work on Valley Metro's light rail bridge.
  • The northbound I-17 on-ramps at Bethany Home Road, Glendale Avenue and Northern Avenue will be closed.
  • Take northbound 19th or 35th avenues.
  • Loop 202
  • Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) will be shut down from Priest Drive to the Mini-Stack starting at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday for pavement sealing.
  • Take southbound SR 143 to westbound I-10
  • State Route 143
  • SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) will be closed in both directions between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street from 9 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday for maintenance.
  • Eastbound Loop 202 ramp to southbound 143 closed until noon Saturday.
  • Eastbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound SR 143/McDowell Road and the southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound Loop 202 will be closed all weekend.
  • Take southbound 44th Street to eastbound Van Buren Street to reach southbound SR 143.
