Some severe weather passed through south-central Pennsylvania Saturday night into Sunday morning, with area residents as well as local and federal officials noting damage.

The National Weather Service's office in State College put out a map Sunday of reported impacts throughout the state - primarily wind, hail, and flood damage, with several reports in the Harrisburg area.

Residents along the Elmerton Avenue corridor just east of the city reported severe overnight weather and tornado-like damage , although the NWS said no actual tornadoes have been reported.

The Colonial Park Mall announced it would not open Sunday due to the previous night's weather; CBS21 also reported images of serious flooding at the Capital Pointe Apartments, located adjacent to the shopping center.

Further south, the Northeastern York County Emergency Management Agency reported major storm damage that closed a portion of Maple Street in Mount Wolf, shutting off access to Mount Wolf Elementary School.

Last night's storms were the result of a warm front encountering a boundary of colder air running roughly north-south through Pennsylvania, including parts of the Susquehanna Valley, according to the NWS.

The agency also reported a cluster of severe storm damage at the northern end of the boundary, in the area of McKean County at the New York border.

The weekend's weather shift is expected to result in cloudy skies with light rain through most of the coming week in the Harrisburg area, according to the NWS, with daytime temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
