Shawn Mendes sips on smoothie with bandmate after addressing sexuality

Shawn Mendes and his bandmate Eddie Benjamin sipped on smoothies together after stopping by Earth Bar in West Hollywood on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Canadian crooner ditched his fleece-lined slippers and went barefoot as he sat cross-legged beside the Australian 22-year-old, who kept his own fuzzy slippers on.

Shawn is frequently pictured with Eddie and his other bandmate Mike Sabath, who co-wrote and co-produced his upcoming album Shawn.

Last Sunday, Mendes - who boasts 153.1M social media followers - posted a b&w video of himself dancing to his new track Heart of Gold in the recording studio as Benjamin and Sabath nodded their heads along.

Eddie - who plays bass and lead guitar - famously dated Dance Moms alum Maddie Ziegler from 2019-2023.

On October 28, the three-time Grammy nominee opened up about his sexuality while introducing his new track The Mountain during a For Friends and Family Tour stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

'There's this thing about my sexuality, and people have been talking about it so long, which is kind of silly, because I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing, and it's so hard to just put into boxes,' Shawn told the crowd .

'It always felt like such an intrusion on something very personal to me. Something that I was figuring out in myself, something that I had yet to discover and still have yet to discover it. The real truth about my life and my sexuality is that, man, I'm just figuring it out like everyone.'

Mendes continued: 'And it feels really scary because we live in a society that has a lot to say about that. And I'm trying to be really brave and just allow myself to be a human and feel things. And that's all I really want to say about that for now.'

On the last episode of NBC's Saturday Night Live , Heidi Gardner impersonated Reba McEntire quoting the half-Portuguese pop star's 'figuring it out' line while responding to Colin Jost's question about the presidential election.

Shawn been accused of 'queerbaiting' in a 'calculated move' in order to hype up his fifth studio album Shawn, which drops November 15.

'Shawn did not come out on stage in that video,' a source told DailyMail.com on November 1.

'He just decided to figure out a way to keep everyone happy by simply revealing he has thought about sexuality. He knows what he is doing. He doesn't want to lose any fans and he wants to sell albums.'

Mendes has only ever been publicly linked to women - model Hailey Bieber, pop star Camila Cabello, pop star Sabrina Carpenter, Big Brother 14 alum Charlie Travers, and chiropractor Dr. Jocelyne Miranda.

In 2018, the Why Why Why singer told Rolling Stone : 'You f***ing guys are so lucky I'm not actually gay and terrified of coming out. That's something that kills people. That's how sensitive it is. Do you like the songs? Do you like me? Who cares if I'm gay?'

Shawn is scheduled to perform a sold-out concert next Wednesday at Tempodrom in Berlin and, on November 14, he'll release his self-titled concert film in cinemas.
