Sheetz $1.99 gas deal for Thanksgiving week
Sheetz is giving thanks to its customers by dropping prices on one type of gasoline Thanksgiving week.
Starting Monday, the Altoona-based convenience store and gas station chain is lowering the price on Unleaded 88 gas to $1.99 a gallon, the company announced in a news release. The promotion lasts until 11:59 p.m. Nov. 27.
While Unleaded 87 is what’s known as “regular” gas, Unleaded 88 has a higher amount of ethanol in it — 15% compared to the 10% found in Unleaded 87.
While Unleaded 88 can’t be used in older vehicles, the Environmental Protection Agency has approved its use in all cars, SUVs and trucks made in 2001 and later.
The Thanksgiving gas deal is just the latest from Sheetz. During the last week in August, the chain offered a $2.99/gallon deal for Unleaded 88.
On the Fourth of July, the price was lowered to $1.776/gallon, prompting lines at some stations.
There is one catch: Not all Sheetz locations carry Unleaded 88 gas. You can find the locations that do at sheetz.com or by using the Sheetz mobile app.
