Sheilah Anderson Morrison, born 1933 in Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024 in Walnut Creek after a long struggle with ALS. Sheilah grew up on Coney Island and held on to her fiery New York attitude and zest for life. After a few moves across country, she settled in Walnut Creek with her first husband and son, Mike. Sheilah very quickly made new friends and pursued her passion for theater by joining the Razzamatazz theater group. She performed skits and created characters for over 40 years. Loving every minute and everyone loving her infectious smile and her incredible sense of humor. Balancing her career as a legal secretary during the day with her nighttime performances, she became a beloved figure in the local theater community. Sheilah loved making people laugh and her comedic portrayal of Lucille Ball in the iconic "Vitameatavegamin" skit was a great example of this. Some of her more memorable performances were Cemetery Club, Time Flies where she played a Mayfly, Love Sex and the IRS, and Sylvia where she played the lead character an adorable stray dog. Sheilah was very talented. In 2005 she and other friends formed the Vagabond Players. They performed for over 10 years at various senior facilities. In 2008 she won a Shelly for "Special Contribution to the Performimg Arts." In 2015 she was on stage in New York, off Broadway, in the play Ladies Quintet. Sheilah also had a passion for tennis. It was on the court that she met the true love of her life, Arthur Morrison. They were doubles partners for 32 years. Sheilah is survived by her devoted husband Arthur Morrison, loving son Mike Leuthold, daughter in law Susan Hills and hundreds of adoring fans. Her spirit, humor and talent will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the ALS association.
