Sheriff: Young man arrested, charged after bomb threat made to Livingston Parish school
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a young male accused of making a bomb threat on Wednesday.
According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, a young man was arrested and is being charged with menacing.
On Wednesday morning, the sheriff's office investigated a reported bomb threat at Live Oak Middle School in Watson. Deputies worked to check the building as students remained on school buses at a separate location.
After searching, the sheriff's office cleared the building and students were allowed on campus. Live Oak Middle announced it was a false threat.
"Thanks to everyone for working with us," said Ard. "Remember, a Zero-Tolerance policy is in place."
Live Oak Middle School is a public school for 5th and 6th-grade students.
