Shirley Ann DeVault

Shirley Ann DeVault, 89, of Bloomington, IL, passed away at 9:56 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.

Shirley was born May 5, 1935, in Bloomington, to Emery and Mary "Retta" (Lovins) Price. She married Lewis DeVault on April 24, 1954, in Bloomington, IL.

Shirley's earliest ambitions were to become a mother. She worked at State Farm until starting a family, then she was a housewife taking care of three children. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, camping, motorcycling, traveling, and family vacations. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her three children, Allan (Brenda) DeVault of Meridian MS, Kevin (Julie DeMay) DeVault of Bloomington, IL, and Vickie (DeWayne) Willhoite of Bloomington, IL; four grandchildren, Steven and Vanessa Schahrer, Nathan (Austin Carls) DeVault and Tyler DeVault; one step grandson, Justin Wells; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota, Tiauna, Zarkias, Kamaury, MacKenzie, Maryssa and Michael; four great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Bode, La Royal and William.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Normal, Emery "Jr" and Floyd Price; and a sister, Juanita Kummer.

Visitation services to celebrate the life of Shirley will be Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL. Graveside services will follow immediately after the visitation. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
