Shooting leads to barricade situation in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A shooting that happened Sunday afternoon turned into a barricade situation in Phoenix. Officers were called about a shooting that happened around 12:40 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road . When officers arrived at the scene, they learned an adult man was taken to the hospital by his family after being shot. Police said the man's injuries were not life-threatening. Officers began investigating the situation, and a barricade situation began as they talked to a neighbor they believed was involved in the shooting. The investigators are asking the public to avoid the area No other information has been released.
