Shoppers flock to King of Prussia Mall to find Black Friday deals
Todd Putt, Director of Marketing at the King of Prussia Mall, says last year they beat pre-pandemic numbers, and analysts are expecting this year to be even better.
The National Retail Federation predicts overall spending will grow between 3% and 4% this holiday season, with shoppers expected to spend an average of $875.
The total is on track to top $957 billion, which would set a record.
Steven Key woke up at 4 a.m. to be one of the first there, driving from Trenton, New Jersey with his girlfriend.
"So I came out today just to do some holiday shopping, get gifts for the family," Key said.
"She's trying to get some UGGs, we got to get two iPads for the kids, probably go to Primark get a couple sweat suits."
Nearly one in five still plan to do "most of their shopping" on Black Friday, according to a survey by the accounting firm PwC.
However, shoppers say the crowds haven't been as bad as they imagined.
And despite higher prices shoppers there told us they were pleased with the deals they were finding inside.
The Mall is open until 9 p.m. Friday and all weekend.
