FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Fresno Police said a 26-year-old man, now identified as Noah Rios, has been connected to several shootings in Fresno.

"In less than 13 days after his release from prison, Mr. Rios got involved in his first shooting here in Fresno," said Chief Mindy Casto with the Fresno Police Department.

Suspect behind Fresno shootings and violent crimes arrested, police say

The police chief said in a press conference that the first shooting took place back on July 28.

"He shot up a house that he believed belonged to an acquaintance that an acquaintance had visited," Casto said. "Inside that house was a 4-year-old child that he showed utter disregard for."

What followed they say was a violent rampage that could have ended far worse than it did.

Police say Rios is responsible for more than six shootings that range from July 28 through Sept. 2.

Once he was identified, police detectives worked quickly to get him off the streets.

Rios is facing multiple felony weapons charges, and if convicted he could be sentenced to life in prison.
