Shreveport officer injured while arresting alleged shoplifter

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport police responded to a shoplifting report at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 26.

The incident happened in the 2000 block of Centenary Boulevard.

Officials say they found the suspect fleeing the scene near Olive and Cody Street. Quinton Pool , 50, reportedly resisted arrest when approached by officers. Officers then tazed Pool and were able to take him into custody. During the incident, an officer was injured in the arm and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Pool was charged with one count of theft, battery on a police officer, possession of narcotics and resisting an officer. He was also found to be wanted in connection to a separate theft incident.

The officer is expected to fully recover.
