Sissons Pumpkin Patch opens for first day of fall

Sunday is the first day of fall and a local family farm welcomed the public into their pumpkin patch for the season.

Sissons' Pumpkin Patch opened last weekend with a variety of activities for the whole family.

The farm is located in Girard and is known for beginning new or continuing family traditions.

Owner Larry Sisson said the last couple of months have been busy as they prepared for the fall.

"We have to cut in the corn maze that starts usually the first of July we cut that in and of course there's constant mowing and landscaping and stuff that needs done and then usually a few weeks before we open mid-early August we start setting up pulling stuff out of the barn," he said.

The pumpkin patch is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until October 27.
