A couple decided to take skydiving to the next level by having a water gunfight while plummeting 5,000 feet through the air.

Miah Nielson, 21, and Noah Lipsitz, 21, have been skydiving for over a year and a half and recently took their jump to the next level.

The pair came up with the idea when discussing their plans for the summer.

They bought water pistols that same night and headed out from Los Angeles to Perris, California, the following day.

The video shows the couple jumping from a hot air balloon simultaneously and wildly firing water at each other.

Miah, a skydiver and yoga teacher from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, said: "Jumping off a hot air balloon is one of the most unique feelings in my life.

"The sun had just risen past the mountains.

"Noah and I took a couple of breaths together trying to center ourselves and enjoy the moments we were in.

"Then we took our count "out in out" and jumped.

"I started to shoot the water gun as fast as I could.

"We both had the biggest smiles on our faces."

The pair landed safely and, even more astonishingly, still holding both water guns.

Miah said: "After we landed we ran up hugging each other laughing showing each other we still had both our water guns.

"There was so much laughter and love in that moment.

"I think it was because we just got to be kids and have fun.

"It wasn't technical, it wasn't so serious it was just fun."
