SMU vs. TCU: How to watch, channel, streaming

J.Wright37 min ago

The SMU Mustangs take on the TCU Horned Frogs at 4 p.m. CT on The CW on Saturday inside Gerald J. Ford Stadium. For the Mustangs, it's a key game as this is the last game that's scheduled to be played in Dallas between the two programs.

On top of that, SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee changed quarterbacks from Preston Stone to Kevin Jennings. It was a bold move ahead of the Battle for the Iron Skillet, but one that he believes will help jumpstart the offense.

"Kevin's fearless," Lashlee said Tuesday. "I mean, he plays the game fearless and sometimes that gets him into trouble, but he plays it with a confidence, kind of a just a 'for love of the game' kind of mentality, which I think is awesome. I think his teammates love that. He knows what to do. He's just got to go out and trust himself and play as hard as he can. And, like said, play through his teammates and just go one play at a time, good or bad, and we'll be fine."

According to FanDuel Sportsbook , the TCU Horned Frogs are currently 2.5-point favorites. The over/under is also set at 58.5 total points.

TCU fell to UCF, 35-34, allowing the Knights to come from behind in Saturday night. That left a bad taste in the mouth of the Horned Frogs and they're looking to right the ship. The run game the Knights had versus the run game the Frogs didn't was the difference in the contest, in a way.

"The main thing is just trying to understand who we are and develop an identity running the ball," TCU head coach Sonny Dykes said this week. "That's going to be the biggest thing for us is just getting good at something and utilize our strengths of our offensive line and utilize the strengths of our backs. That's what we got to do a good job of. Just making sure that everybody is doing things the way they're supposed to."

SMU on the other hand has had one of the top backs production wise in the ACC. Running back Brashard Smith will have to continue his strong play as the Mustangs will be without key contributor Jaylan Knighton .

Whichever team's been able to run the ball best has often had the upper hand in the series. Fans of Mustangs and Horned Frogs will find out at 4 p.m. CT Saturday.
