Snapshot: Sunday Sky 'Medicine For Soul' In Yardley Yardley photographer Josh Friedman captures landscape frames of scenes throughout Bucks County in this Patch photo feature.'s Note —This is a weekly Patch feature.YARDLEY, PA —The Sunday morning sky over Bucks County was "medicine for my soul."
Yardley Photographer Josh Friedman said the sky was filled with a "wonderful combination" of pinks, blues, and yellows, all reflected in the Delaware River.
About 10 or 15 minutes before sunrise, Friedman this snapshot of the West Trenton Railroad Bridge crossing the river between Yardley and Ewing, N.J.
He merged five exposures to create this HDR (high dynamic range) photograph.
"I could almost hear Cat Stevens singing, 'Morning has broken like the first morning, Blackbird has spoken like the first bird...'" Friedman said.
In terms of composition, he often tries to create images with a sense of balance.
"In this photograph, I tried to include much of the beautiful cloud formation, as well as its reflection. Additionally, the curve of the tree bending over the river is echoed by the curve of the land meeting the river at the bottom," Friedman said.
