Soil survey finds land next to Windsor Park is safe to build on

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -Winsor Park has been a sinking North Las Vegas neighborhood for decades, but experts have confirmed that the soil is okay to build on.

People living in Windsor Park are hopeful for new homes that state money will fund. These homes are expected to be built outside of the neighborhood for the current residents.

The Community Development Programs Center of Nevada shared with FOX5 that the okay was given to build right next to Windsor Park.

A soil survey says it's safe but recommends putting special slabs within the foundation of these homes.

The organization explained that the challenge they face is that 100 individuals own lots next to the development, but so far, only 30 are willing to sell.
