Someone Brought Their Dog To Costco & All Hell Broke Loose

Nothing stirs up emotion among Costco customers quite like the store's pet policy. According to the rules, which have been in place for quite sometime, pets are not allowed into the store unless they are a service animal.

Costco shoppers were riled up once again when a Redditor posted a photo of a dog inside a San Diego warehouse , along with the caption, "Costco isn't a pet store!" Since being shared one day ago, the post has received well over 2,000 angry comments.

A number of people are confused as to why the owner of the dog was able to make it past the front door.

"Would imagine staff at the front should have stopped them," one person wrote.

To make matters worse, the original poster revealed that a worker at the front of the San Diego Costco attempted to get the owner's attention, but was ignored.

Given the additional details of the pet fiasco, Reddit users suggested that Costco take drastic measures to deal with such behavior.

"Membership should immediately be revoked," said one user.

"Costco should have no issue enforcing it if it's displayed the rules at the entrance and they can call law enforcement or revoke the membership like you said," another person added. "The correct question in this context is "hi, if your dog a service animal?" a user wrote online. "If they say yes, they can shop with their dog. If they say no, you tell them pets aren't allowed in the store. Usually the dog owner will then claim emotional support animal status, but then you should tell them that ESA animals are not considered service animals and are not allowed."

And Costco isn't the only store facing a pup infiltration. There were been several complaints about pets being "everywhere"—from supermarkets to restaurants.

"This whole thing with people taking their dogs everywhere drives me nuts. Like really people, you can't run to Costco or Home Depot without your dog?" read one comment.
