Sophie B. Sherbin, 84, a resident of Hampton House on the Sans Souci
Parkway in Hanover Township, formerly of the Hanover Green section of Hanover
Township, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. Born Dec. 10, 1915,
in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Camilla
(Rovinski) Bujnowski. She attended Hanover Township schools and was a lifelong
resident of Hanover Township. She was a life member of Exaltation of the Holy
Cross Church in the Buttonwood section of Hanover Township and a former member
of the Ladies Social Welfare Club. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr.
Robert J. Sherbin; brothers, Stanley, Bernard, John, Albert and Olyphant; and
sister, Helen Urner. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Charles, funeral
director, Hanover Township; sons, Charles, III, funeral director, Hanover
Township; and William, Malvern; daughter, Susan Falcone, Plains Township; four
grandchildren; brother, Frank, Clearwater, Fla.; nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Charles V. Sherbin Funeral
Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green section of Hanover Township, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church. Interment
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to
the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Wilkes-Barre.
