SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Saturday, South Dakota State University took a taste of what it has to offer in Brookings and brought it to Sioux Falls.

SDSU Day at the Washington Pavilion was a chance for the public to explore and learn about the activities going on in the various departments on campus.

Even though the university is only a short drive north, the event was meant to be a convenient stop for high schoolers and their families to learn more about what they could be a part of in Brookings.

"We want to bring all of the projects that we do for hands-on activities, design projects and things like that, and we want to show it to the Sioux Falls community," said Kasiviswanathan Muthukumarappan with the SDSU Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering department.

The SDSU Admissions team was also on hand to talk with prospective students about what value they could get out of the university and what SDSU could offer them without leaving the metro area.
