Southern KY man shoots mother, 94-year-old grandma during domestic dispute

A 25-year-old Monticello man is charged with two counts of attempted murder after he is alleged to have shot his mother and grandmother, according to Kentucky State Police.

The Monticello Police Department contacted state police after a shooting took place at a Winchester Road home in Wayne County Saturday night.

The initial investigation indicates Chase Jackson was in a verbal altercation with his mother, Audrey J. Jackson, 50, and grandmother, Savana Brock, 94, inside the home. During the argument, Jackson allegedly discharged a firearm inside, striking his mother and grandmother, authorities said.

A Wayne County Sheriff's deputy performed life-saving measures before Wayne County EMS arrived on the scene, according to state police.

A medical team transported the victims to the Wayne County airport, where they were airlifted to the University of Kentucky where they remained in critical condition Sunday.

Jackson was later located walking on Highway 90 in Wayne County and was arrested . He is being held at the Wayne County Detention Center and is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first-degree assault.
