Southington's 'Cookie Ranger' Tempts The Tastebuds The local cookie bakery opened this week offering a wide variety of warm, gooey cookie varieties (as well as ice cream).

SOUTHINGTON, CT — If actor Chuck Norris moved to Southington and indulged in the town's newest cookie bakery, his popular TV show might have been called "Walker Cookie Ranger."

This week, there were no Norris sightings, but a new cookie/ice cream shop at 318 N. Main St., Southington, — called "Cookie Ranger" — is open for business and satisfying cookie cravings.

The shop's soft opening was Monday, Oct. 14, after spending the past couple of weekends selling its wide variety of baked confectionary delights at the Southington Apple Harvest Festival.

Now, folks can stop down and purchase a diverse menu of cookie choices ranging from classic chocolate chip to chocolate candy to chocolate chocolate chip (among many other varieties).

Some of "Cookie Ranger's" more unique offerings include "brookies" (half cookie/half brownies) and so-called "cookie bombs," which are, essentially, cookies baked inside of another cookie.

Founded by principal Tamara Lucente , "Cookie Ranger" is based in Southington and the shop has yet another feature: If you move away, they'll ship your hometown's favorite cookie to you.

Every Tuesday, "Cookie Ranger" ships out orders submitted online to wherever you live.

They, even, include instructions to place your cookies in the oven and get the same, just-baked taste as in the cookie shop.

A member of the Southington Chamber of Commerce , "Cookie Ranger" is a classic example of a local company, one offering something anyone can enjoy.

The shop has a well-updated Facebook page featuring all sorts of images and videos about the thing they do best .... cookies.

So, even Walker Texas Ranger can find out easily what's up at "Cookie Ranger."
