Kupferschmid named to squad

Eureka senior Tory Kupferschmid has been chosen to Class 3A all-state team by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association. He was a two-way player, as the 6-foot, 190-pounder started as a wide receiver and at linebacker.

Kupferschmid helped the Hornets to a 9-2 record and an appearance in the second round of the playoffs.

Seven chosen for volleyball

Both the Heart of Illinois Conference and Tri-County Conference have released individual accolades. A list appears below by league along with school and year:

Second: Kayleigh Keim, Eureka, senior and Macy Gochanour, Fieldcrest, junior

Honorable mention: Sophie Musselman, Eureka, senior

Second: Brianna Harms, Roanoke-Benson, junior

HM: Samantha Bertschi, R-B, senior.
