SR-R Students Headed To Safety Town

G.Perez52 min ago

(KNSI) – The Stearns-Benton Toward Zero Death Chapter will be taking Sauk Rapids-Rice elementary students to Safety Town on Tuesday, October 29th.

The coalition uses the demonstration to simulate a real-world city environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The goal is to show youth how to navigate through an urban environment without getting hurt.

Volunteers are needed for the event. Setup will start on Monday inside the gym at 1:30 p.m. The demonstrations are scheduled to begin the next morning at 8:50. Organizers are targeting third graders at Pleasantview Elementary School. There are five classes, and each will get 25 to 30 minutes to go through Safety Town.

Tear down should begin around 10:55 a.m. Organizers say they are working hard now to time out the event so it runs smoothly and every kid will have a chance to get through each demonstration.
