Crusoe's Legacy, 4944 Christy Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63116

From the family of the The Original Crusoe's, which shuttered earlier this year, comes Crusoe's Legacy. The menu includes salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas and, of course, fried chicken.

Expat BBQ, 3730 Foundry Way, St. Louis, MO 63110

This eatery becomes Niche Food Group's largest concept to date with three stories and dining spaces. Expat BBQ promises to serve globally-inspired barbecue.

I Heart Mac and Cheese, 15848 Fountain Plaza Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63017

I Heart Mac and Cheese specializes in macaroni and cheese flavors like lobster and white truffle, buffalo bleu cheese, short rib Philly and chicken parmesan.

Jade Buffet, 1079 Collinsville Crossing Boulevard, Collinsville, IL 62234

The Chinese buffet takes over the space of a Golden Corral restaurant, which closed in 2022.

The Passport Cocktail Bar & Bottle Shop, 1321 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103

From the married couple behind Pour Decisions, a mobile pop-up bar, comes a cocktail bar inspired by the owners' travels.

Treasures Bar and Grill, 4517 Olive Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63108

The eatery features a soul food Sunday complete with chicken, pork chops, sweet potatoes, macaroni and more.

Whisky on Washington hosted a grand opening at its new location this month. The restaurant becomes a 30-and-up joint after 9 p.m.

Belleville Books takes over the old Belleville Savings Bank building. It offers used books and events such as author signings.

D-Bat is a year-round baseball and softball facility with 13 cages, a pro-shop, camps, clinics and lessons.

This Asian mini-mart sells to-go meals and grocery items.

Olivia & Oliver Nail Lounge, 8472 Eager Road, St. Louis, MO 63144

This is the second Olivia & Oliver Nail Lounge. The first can be found at 6451 Clayton Road in Clayton.

Park Place Market, 286 DeBaliviere Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63112

This new café and market sells coffee and food in addition to a small selection of grocery items.

Radisson Fairview Heights Hotel, 319 Fountains Parkway, Fairview Heights, IL 62208

This rebranded hotel boasts 119 rooms and four stories and is about a half hour from St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

Savage X Fenty, 1155 St. Louis Galleria Street, St. Louis, MO 63117

Founded by singer Rihanna, the lingerie brand opened a brick-and-mortar location in the Saint Louis Galleria mall this month.

RESTAURANTS:

Armory STL, 3660 Market Street, St. Louis, MO 63110

The Armory shut its doors at the end of September. Its developer, Green Street, has faced employee layoffs and multiple lawsuits recently. The Armory's operators say this closure is temporary.

Black Sheep Whiskey & Wine, 3153 Morgan Ford Road, St. Louis, MO 63116

Owners Zach and Mary Rice announced the closure of multiple restaurants in a social media post. They wrote that they couldn't sustain the businesses any longer. The closure includes Mama 2's Biscuits, the brunch concept inside Black Sheep.

El Indio Hampton, 3279 Hampton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139

After 11 years, El Indio Hampton closed. Its sister location, El Indio St Louis on Manchester Road, will continue operation.

Havana's Cuisine, 1131 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO 63101

Havana's Cuisine closed its downtown location as the business prepares to open on Euclid Avenue in the Central West End in October.

London Tea Room, 900 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

After a judge ordered the tea business to exit its downtown space following a lawsuit with the landlord, the London Tea Room ceased service this month.

LoRusso's Cucina, 3121 Watson Road, St. Louis, MO 63139

After 38 years in business, this beloved Italian restaurant closed at the end of September.

Smokee Mo's St. Louis BBQ, 110 Old Meramec Station Road, St. Louis, MO 63021

Known for its vegan BBQ, Smokee Mo's comes from Frank and Eva Imo, of the popular regional pizza chain. Smokee Mo's Arnold location will remain open.

Three Little Monkeys, 3172 Morgan Ford Road, St. Louis, MO 63116

Three Little Monkeys is a pizzeria and another of one of Zach and Mary Rice's concepts that closed in September.

RETAIL:

The Noir Bookshop, 2317 Cherokee Street, St. Louis, MO 63118

This independent bookstore closed its physical storefront at the end of the month. The business said it plans to stick around through pop-up events, workshops and a new micro space.

Big Lots, various locations

Four area Big Lots have been in the process of shutting down as a result of national closures for the chain. This includes stores in south St. Louis County and the city's Bevo Mill neighborhood, plus Centralia and Fairview Heights in Illinois.

LL Flooring, various locations

Formerly Lumber Liquidators, LL Flooring is closing after the company announced it filed for bankruptcy in August. A private equity firm agreed to purchase assets, but stores in Chesterfield and Fairview Heights, Ill. are still on the chopping block.
