Staff Threatened After Man Denied Free Food: Northbrook PD Blotter After threatening the staff, the man knocked a security member's phone out of their hand.NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
RETAIL THEFT
Karen Lencioni, of Lake Barrington, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Nov. 1, in the 800 block of Willow Road. The loss prevention staff at the grocery store said Lencioni was walking around the store, acting suspicious. Lencioni placed $332.34 worth of groceries into reusable bags and walked out the doors without paying. Lencioni was charged with retail theft. The court date is set for Dec. 20.
SUSPENDED/
Treve D. Vance, of Joliet, had an active warrant out of Pike County, was driving with a suspended license, and was arrested Nov. 1 at Illinois and Shermer roads. He was taken to the Cook County Jail until Pike County can make arrangements to pick him up. Vance is due in court on Dec. 12 for the Northbrook charge.
Rubio Gonzalez, of Chicago, is accused of having no valid driver's license, improper lane usage, suspended registration, no valid driver's license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Nov. 3, at Willow and Greenwood roads. A court date of Dec. 13 was assigned.
Elbin Hernandez-Ramirez, of Chicago, is accused of criminal trespass to property, disorderly conduct, assault, and was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Nov. 4, in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. Security staff told police Hernandez-Ramirez had asked the restaurant staff for free food. They told him they couldn't do that, but gave him a bottle of water. He then reportedly became angry and threatened the staff. When they asked him to leave, Hernandez-Ramirez refused. One of the security members tried using her phone, but Hernandez-Ramirez knocked it out of her hand. A court date of Nov. 30 was assigned.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A Pointe Drive resident called police at 9:09 a.m. Nov. 2, to report she had to cancel her original credit card due to a disputed charge. The credit card company sent out a new credit card, but the complainant never received it. A few months later, the credit card company said someone had intercepted the new card and charged over $12,900 in fraudulent charges.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
Police responded at 7:55 p.m. Nov. 3, to a new coffee house that was still under construction. A passerby reported the front glass door had been shattered. Upon arrival, officers entered the shop to check for anyone inside but found no one and noted that nothing seemed to be missing. The owners later confirmed that nothing had been stolen. It appeared that a brick had been used to break the glass door.
IDENTITY THEFT
An Adirondack Drive resident reported at 1:32 p.m. Nov. 4, said he had received a bill from a national hardware store for charges at one of their stores in Calumet City. The complainant said he never signed up for a credit card through the store and never authorized anyone to use his name without his knowledge. The total of the fraudulent charges was $1084.50.
THEFT OF AUTO PARTS
A Doolitle Drive resident reported at 4:08 p.m. Nov. 4, they had stored their 2011 Ford F350 box truck in a parking lot from August 2024 to October 2024. During that period of time, someone stole the catalytic converter from underneath the vehicle. The converter was worth $3,100.
While on patrol in the 3700 block of Dundee Road at 2:02 p.m. Nov. 7, an officer noticed several windows that were shattered at a religious center that is currently vacant. It appeared that decorative rocks were thrown through the windows throughout the building. Total damage is estimated to be $300.
