Stafford 2024 Election Results: By The Numbers Here is a summery of the 2024 election in Stafford, by the numbers.

STAFFORD, CT — Here's how Stafford residents voted and the results of key state and federal races in Tuesday's 2024 election.

Results, according to the Secretary of the State's office are "unofficial," but are based on "official" tally sheets sent to the state by each respective municipality.

At the top of the ballot, residents will be asked to vote on a referendum question that reads:

  • "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"
  • The results, as of late Wednesday morning were the yes votes totaling 697,123 and the no votes totaling 537,985.

    Donald Trump has been declared the overall winner.

    Local votes:

  • Democratic: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz: 2,698
  • Republican: Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance: 3,686
  • Green Party: Jill Stein and Butch Ware: 30
  • Libertarian: Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat: 28
  • Petitioning Candidate: Robert Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan: 38
  • U.S. Senate

    Christopher Murphy has been declared the overall winner.

    Local votes:

  • Democratic: Christopher S. Murphy (Murphy was also endorsed by the Working Families Party): 2,849
  • Republican: Matthew M. Corey: 3,257
  • Green Party: Justin C. Paglino: 45
  • Cheaper Gas Groceries Party: Robert Finley Hyde: 81
  • U.S. House

    U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney has won re-election in the 2nd District.

    Local votes:

  • Democratic: Joe Courtney: 3,009
  • Republican: Mike France: 3,196
  • Writer-In: Jeffery Russell: 1
  • Stafford Registrar of Voters

  • Democratic: Sue Armstrong: 3.050
  • Petitioning Candidate: Eleanor Canestrari: 931
  • State Representative, 52nd District

    Kurt Vail declared the winner, 8,419-6,148.

  • Republican: Kurt Vail: 3,561
  • State Senate, 35th District

    With every town but Eastford reporting, Jeff Gordon has been declared the winner, 27,942 to 25,040.
