Stats show just how dominant the Lions were vs. Jacksonville

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There's no other way to say it: the Detroit Lions dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday. The box score illustrates just how lopsided the truly was.

Let's start with 52 points. The Lions scored on all but one of their drives. The lone outlier was the final drive of the game, where Hendon Hooker and a host of Lions reserves took three knees to burn up the last of the clock.

It was the third time an NFL team has cracked 50 points this season. Tampa Bay put up 51 on New Orleans in Week 6 . The other? The Detroit Lions, and they did it in their last home game, a over Tennessee.

The Lions never punted. Punter Jack Fox played eight snaps, all as a holder for seven Jake Bates extra-point attempts and the team's lone field goal.

The offense finished with 645 yards, breaking the franchise record for most yards in a game set by Matthew Stafford and Co. in a 2013 showdown with Dallas. The defense, meanwhile, held the Jags to just 170 yards.

Jared Goff finished the game 24 for 29 with 412 passing yards and four touchdowns. Combined with Hendon Hooker's 3 for 4 line in mop-up duty, the team had more touchdowns than incompletions.

In a season where his efficiency has elevated him into the MVP conversation, Goff had a perfect passer rating on Sunday, reaching 158.3 for the first time this season. It was the first time he reached the milestone in his career. This season alone, he had cracked 150 twice and 140 three times, but never perfect.

The team spread the love around, as well. Nine different players recorded catches, led by another stellar performance from Amon-Ra St. Brown: 11 receptions for 161 yards and two scores.

Eight players recorded carries, with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs leading the way. Montgomery racked up 95 all-purpose yards and two scores on 18 touches. Gibbs recorded 123 total yards and a touchdown on 12 touches.

The Lions (9-1) will put their eight-game winning streak on the line next Sunday, traveling to Indianapolis to take on the Colts (5-6). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox.
