Steelers RB Jaylen Warren NFL’s most-fined player heading into Week 12

Steelers ’ running back Jaylen Warren has enjoyed a breakout season in 2023. But with his increased snap count and national attention, Warren has also been noticed by the NFL more and more in terms of fines. In fact, Warren is the most-fined player in the league so far this year, having been charged a whopping $97,112 heading into Week 12.

Warren has been fined more this year than Broncos safety Kareem Jackson, who has been suspended for a total of six games this season for violating the NFL’s unnecessary roughness policy.

Warren doesn’t exactly carry the label of “dirty player” at this point in his career, with many of his fined plays not even drawing flags in-game. Warren has drawn fines due to the NFL cracking down on helmet-to-helmet contact this year, something Warren has caused due to his 5’8 stature and aggressive playing style.

Per Over the Cap , Warren is making $870,000 before taxes this season, making his $97,112 in fines worth over 11% of his total salary for the year. It’s a massive amount of money for the formerly undrafted running back, and Warren’s agent has been vocal about appealing the fines .

Warren wasn’t hit with any fines following last week’s game, but two of his teammates were. Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson and linebacker Alex Highsmith were both hit with fines following penalized plays in the Steelers’ Week 11 loss to the Browns .

Per TribLive’s Joe Rutter, Peterson was fined over $10,000 for a facemask penalty, while Highsmith was fined over $16,000 for a roughing the passer penalty.

Alex HighSmith was fined over $16,000 for his hit on the quarterback last week. Patrick Peterson was fined over $10,000 for unnecessary roughness.

— Joe Rutter November 25, 2023 The Steelers entered Week 12 as the most-fined team in the league at $411,501. The next-most fined team is the Baltimore Ravens at $282,535 — a $128,966 difference.

They’ll take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, hoping for a win, and hopefully no fines.
