Steelers Reacts Results: Fans predict a second-place finish in the AFC North

The Steelers enter Week 3 with a 2-0 record ahead of a big AFC matchup against the also undefeated Los Angeles Chargers . It'll be Pittsburgh's toughest challenge yet this year, but also an opportunity to begin the season with an exceptionally strong start.

Earlier this week, we polled Steelers fans about their confidence in the direction the team is heading, where they project Pittsburgh to finish in the AFC North, and whether or not they'd be surprised if the team started out 3-0. Here's what they had to say.

The Steelers are currently the only 2-0 team in their division, ahead of the 1-1 Browns who have struggled offensively, and with a two-game lead over the winless Ravens and Bengals. The Steelers' schedule gets much tougher in the second half of the season, and the other AFC North teams could certainly rebound, but Steelers fans are confident that Pittsburgh will finish in the top half.

The majority of Steelers fans won't be surprised by a 3-0 start to the season Expectations weren't exactly high entering 2024 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A winless preseason revealed that Pittsburgh still had major questions at quarterback and offensive line. There were rumblings that the Steelers wouldn't make the playoffs.

However, a 2-0 start to 2024 has changed the expectations surrounding the team. Just 39% of fans said they'd be surprised by a 3-0 start. We don't have the data, but I can guarantee you that percentage would've been much higher ahead of Week 1.

Confidence levels around the Steelers remain high, but steady Heading into this Week 3 Chargers matchup, 76% of Steeler fans are confident that the team is headed in the right direction. It's a high mark, but it's a very small jump from last week , where the confidence level sat at 74%. At least it's officially over three-quarters.

The lack of change is likely because the Steelers didn't look all that improved from Week 1 to Week 2. The offense finally scored a touchdown but put up fewer points overall. The defense continued to excel, but rookie Bo Nix isn't exactly a premier matchup at this point in his career.

However, a good win over a 2-0 Chargers team could increase the optimism of a Pittsburgh fanbase that's already fairly confident in their team.
