WINNEBAGO, Neb. (KCAU)– Cookoffs are pretty common, but what workers at the Winnebago Comprehensive Health Care System Center came up with was different; it was a stir fry cookoff.

The friendly competition had members of the community cook with healthy ingredients, all while keeping in the flavors. The categories of stir fry were beef, chicken, and seafood. The event also helped raise money to go towards the national diabetes awareness foundation.

"We're doing some outreach to do some stir fry cookoffs to just bring awareness to making healthy stir fry dishes we're trying to do some of the more plant-based foods for our people," judge of the cookoff Mary Kelsey said.

The categories of stir fry go under beef, chicken, and seafood, and the winner of each category will receive a prize that best helps them with healthy eating habits.
